A brilliant strike by Steven Naismith inspired Rangers to a 2-0 friendly win over FC Nuremberg in Germany. The former Kilmarnock forward, on as a half-time substitution for Kris Boyd, then played a part in the second strike from Nacho Novo.
Gers boss Walter Smith told the club's official website: "Our overall possession of the ball wasn't great today but that's something that will improve over time.
"We were still a little bit rusty at times but we had some decent performances from our group and we were happy to win.
"Steven Naismith did very well when he came on and we were delighted for him because he scored a fantastic goal.
"This year he has come back looking really fit and we are confident he can go on to be a big player for us.
"Neil Alexander and Allan McGregor were both excellent in goal."
