Former Newcastle United and Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy has put his hand up for the Wales job.
Bellamy, who picked up 78 caps for Wales during the years of 1998-2013, believes he would be a strong candidate for the job after Chris Coleman left to take charge of Sunderland.
The 38-year-old said: "I would always be interested in the Wales job, even now, and looking ahead for the rest of my life.
"It is the pinnacle for me, I would definitely always be interested. Working with the most successful Wales players ever, the group is there, the balance with young players going through, they need someone who knows the players which I do."
Despite putting himself in the running for the Wales position, Bellamy ruled out taking a job in the Premier League.
He added: "Not realistic for a Premier League team at this stage of my career, there are one or two Championship clubs, but it would be lower down where I start my career.
"I have been working with young Wales players. I have played with this group, we know each other very well, a good group of people."
