Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan can count on the full backing of Craig Bellamy.
Bellamy insists the involvement of Tan has been welcome and essential in turning round the club which has always remained closest to his heart.
"I remember the years when I used to go down there with my father It was difficult, they were really, really tough times," Bellamy told the Western Mail.
"It was tough for all the supporters, there weren't big numbers going. Our supporters have had it tough and over the years we had a reputation too that wasn't about football.
"But credit to our supporters they are really acting professional now, they've really got themselves together and they enjoy watching the club nowadays.
"Cardiff is an outstanding football club, but it's been so long since it's been in the top flight. Our supporters have deserved better than what they have had over the years.
"The owner we have now has been incredible. Not just for the club, but for the whole area. He's been heavily involved with everything.
"He's done one or two things a little bit differently which everyone knows about, but what I like about him is that South Wales is an area which has had it tough over the last 20 or 30 years. There are have been very hard times for a lot of us, but he's come in and he's donated a lot of money to charities.
"He's given a lot of kids hope and over the last few years nobody has been able to that in this area so that is a credit to him."
