Belhadj picking right moment for Portsmouth showdown talks

Nadir Belhadj is happy to wait for the right moment to speak with Avram Grant about his future at Portsmouth.

Despite the frustration, though, Belhadj insisted he would wait for the right moment to speak to Grant.

He told The News: "I did not speak to him yet. I continue to work normally while waiting for my chance.

"It is not a convenient period to discuss my future with the manager because a true marathon awaits us this week. We play against Chelsea on Wednesday, Liverpool on Saturday and then West Ham next Saturday.

"But I will discuss it with him (Grant) in order to know if he needs me this season. If it is yes, I remain and I honour my contract with Portsmouth.

"But if not, I will leave the club in the transfer window because I need to play. I must be competitive with the national team at the time of the next World Cup."

Belhadj insists he does not have any offers from other clubs and remains focused on a busy period.

He said: "I do not have any offers and I have not heard anything. But everyone is concentrated on these games."
