Belgium now have know-how of tournament football - Everton striker Lukaku

Everton star Romelu Lukaku claims that the valuable experience on the international stage has provided an additional edge to the Belgium national squad at Euro2016.

The 23-year-old claims that the Red Devils, who bowed out to eventual runners-up Argentina in the quarter-final of the 2014 World Cup, now have what it takes to go all the way in France.

"We know how it ended for us in the World Cup," said Lukaku ahead of Belgium's opening Group E fixture with Italy on Monday night.

"We were the better side against Argentina but we got beat on a tactical base. We have the know-how now but a tournament is so strange that you don't expect the best team to win.

"I remember the Euros in Portugal. I thought Portugal would win it easily and then Greece won it. I was like "What?!"

"We have the talent but you have to put the talent into your performances otherwise you don't get the results. It comes down to hard work. I always say hard work can never be beaten."
