Belgium manager Roberto Martinez says Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany will be fit for their final World Cup group game.

Kompany has been named in Martinez's final squad despite carrying a groin injury.

Martinez said: "Vincent has been in this situation many times before and we have taken a decision to use his know-how and experience around the group.

“We are confident as well with the progress he has made since the Portugal game that he will be available to be involved in the third game of the group phase.

“For his club this season, after not playing for four months he performed against Chelsea.

“He is a player that, with his experience, can perform straightaway."
