Beitar Jerusalem are confident of wrapping up a deal for Bolton Wanderers winger Idan Tal.

The Trotters have given them permission to talk to the Israel international.

"We do not have a date yet but I am certain Idan Tal will play for Beitar," coach Itzhak Shum told Haaretz.

Tal, who had a spell with Everton, could find himself down the pecking order at Reebok Stadium next season following the arrival of Gavin McCann from Aston Villa.
