Robbie Fowler has returned to England and is considering a move to play in the A-League with the North Queensland Fury. Fowler has spent much of this week in Townsville and surrounding areas with Fury coach Ian Ferguson and chairman Don Matheson and is expected to make a decision within the next week.
The former Liverpool stars agent, George Scott, said the 33-year old was excited that he could be a part of history.
"It's part of being history. There are clubs that have been there for three years but this is a new adventure for the Fury and it's exciting times ahead," he told the Townsville Bulletin.
It is believed Fowler will discuss the prospect of moving down under with his family.
The decision could be a huge one for football in Australia and Ferguson said he was waiting patiently to hear Fowler's verdict.
"You have still got to wait for that decision to come through and it's a bit nervy waiting, but it's a big, big decision and I hope he makes the right one," Ferguson said.
"They've shown us the commitment by coming here that they're definitely serious and they might still be.
"At the end of the day they might come down and say `yep, that's for us, let's do it, let's go', and we would be the happiest people in Australia."
