Beijing Guoan's Griffiths wary of Melbourne Victory

Beijing Guoan striker Joel Griffiths knows exactly what the Melbourne Victory can produce on their home turf. The former Newcastle Jets man has played against the Victory enough to know what they are capable of and is remaining cautious ahead of tonight's Asian Champions League clash at Docklands Stadium.

''I think it's not going to be easy. We know pretty much what Melbourne do, especially in Melbourne," Griffiths said.

"They will be very confident going into Wednesday's clash, as we are, too. There's a little bit of cat and mouse, a bit of tactics [to be] played, Melbourne have to pretty much win. We know that, but we are confident in what we can do.''

The 30-year old says he has settled well in China and believes it is showing in his on-field performances.

''If I am enjoying myself off the pitch then I feel like I play my best football. My family is happy and the transition is a lot easier," he added.

Griffiths is right stating that the Victory has to win as they have only recorded three points in four group stage matches whilst Beijing are on six points and sit second on the table.
