Beijing Guoan striker Joel Griffiths has revealed he would be open to a return to his former A-League club the Newcastle Jets. The 31-year old is currently under contract with the Chinese Super League club but says he would love the chance to return to the Jets following the departure of owner Con Constantine whom Griffiths clashed with when he first moved to China.
"I would love to come back for a stint but it would not be up to me, it would be up to Beijing," he told the Newcastle Herald.
"Personally I couldn't see it happening until I finish after next year but funnier things have happened.
"It's up to Newcastle to talk to Beijing. If Beijing came to me and say what do you think, then I would put my hand up and say, yes."
Jets coach Branko Culina was also open to the idea: "I like the idea, because it freshens the team up as well," he said.
