Asmir Begovic has joined fellow goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen in signing a new contract with Stoke City.
The 24-year old Bosnian gloveman has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Potters following Sorensen's two-and-a-half-year extension.
The decisions of both keepers to commit themselves to the Stoke cause has delighted manager Tony Pulis.
"It's important to have good competition for places in all areas of the squad and nowhere is it better than there.
"In Asmir, I believe we have the best young goalkeeper in England who has shown his great potential since he came to the club and he certainly has a big part to play in our future as we look to continue the progress we have made.
"As I have stated before, though, it is also important to look after those who have got us where we are today, and Thomas has been a major influence upon what we have achieved.
"He has been an outstanding professional who has thrived upon the challenge now facing him and I am delighted to have secured his experience.""It's fantastic news that we have settled the immediate futures of our two main goalkeepers," he told the club's official website.
