Mark Beevers has signed a new contract with Championship newcomers Sheffield Wednesday.

The 22-year old defender has penned a fresh two-year contract with the Owls and is keen to become a regular member of the squad after spending the first half of last season on loan with MK Dons.

"This was something I always wanted to do and I'm really pleased to be staying for another two years," Beevers told the club's official website.

"Sheffield Wednesday is my club and I will be here as long as they want me.

"I've been through the highs and lows with Wednesday and winning promotion last season was the biggest high of all.

"We are all aiming now to do well in the Championship and we're excited about the challenge ahead."
