Beckham's man of the match selection likened to Obama winning Nobel

The selection of David Beckham as England's man of the match in the 3-0 win over Belarus has attracted attention, especially from manager Fabio Capello.

Despite coming on as a 58th minute substitute, the LA Galaxy star was nominated as the best player by TV pundit Steve Bruce but Capello thought it was a somewhat strange decision.

"It's like Barack Obama having been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize after only eight months as President of the United States. David was on the pitch less than half an hour," Capello quipped.
