Beckham's franchise could be named 'Miami Vice'

Miami Vice is one of the names being considered for David Beckham's MLS expansion franchise.

The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy midfielder has stepped into the ownership caper with his Miami franchise to being playing in the next few years.

The Palm Beach Post was given some inside information regarding the possible name and logo of the expansion club with three potential identities coming to the fore: Miami Vice, Miami Current and an undisclosed name tied to a corporate sponsor.

The logo for the proposed 'Vice' name was disclosed with the following description: 'The letters 'M' (in aqua blue) and 'V' (in grey) form a badge, with an upward-struck soccer ball in the foreground. The kit features an aqua shirt and dark gray shorts with soft pink stripes.'

The three names were used in the presentation by Beckham and his group to the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County and potential investors but that does not necessarily mean that trio are the only names on the shortlist.
