LA Galaxy welcomed back David Beckham as they defeated New York Red Bulls 3-1 on Thursday night. The Galaxy easily accounted for the team who has the worst record in MLS thanks to goals from Alecko Eskandarian (3rd minute), Landon Donovan (31st) and Eddie Lewis (45th).
New York's Juan Pablo Angel managed a consolation goal from the spot three minutes from before failing to convert another penalty in the 90th minute.
It was Beckham's first game since returning from a five-month loan with AC Milan.
"The most important thing is for us to get three points, and tonight we did that in style," Beckham said.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder did admit he was on the end of some unenviable treatment from fans.
"A few (boos) tonight, but it's to be expected," he added. "It's sometimes nice to get the boos. It gives you some inspiration."
