LA Galaxy star David Beckham believes it would have been a sham if his side did not come away with three points on the weekend.
The reigning MLS champions moved up to sixth on the Western Conference table by defeating Colorado Rapids 2-1 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park but it may have been a different story if goalkeeper Josh Saunders hadn't have come up with a vital penalty save from a controversial decision late in the match.
Andre Akpan was adjudged to have been brought down in the area by referee Ramon Hernandez but the call was wrong and luckily for LA, the goal was not scored with Beckham relieved a poor decision did not deny his side maximum points.
"They obviously came at us second half but it would have been a travesty if we hadn't have won it, but we did.""It would have been a travesty if we hadn't won this game tonight because we were on top for most of the game," Beckham said.
