David Beckham has played down fiery scenes involving him and LA Galaxy supporters. The 34-year old confronted a section of Galaxy fans at half-time of the friendly against the club he was on loan with recently, AC Milan.
One fan told the Daily Star that Beckham yelled abuse at the supporters.
"He went up there and said: 'Come on mother-effer,' and called the guy out. He's the player, he's the professional. He should have kept himself under control and he didn't," the fan said.
But Beckham played down the event when quizzed about what happened.
"The majority of fans here wanted to watch the game and the great players and they enjoyed themselves," Beckham said.
"I tried to shake one guy's hand but he didn't want any of it. They were saying things that really weren't very nice."
