David Beckham has no doubt Manchester United will rally around scandal-hit Wayne Rooney.
The Los Angeles Galaxy star watched with interest England's two victories this past week - with Rooney centre stage.
Beckham, who spent part of his youth career at Old Trafford before turning professional in 1993 and moving to Madrid 10 years later, said: "He is definitely at the right team and has the right manager to be able to cope with any situation.
"I know that from my personal experience of being at Manchester United for so many years.
"It is a club and a team that puts their arms around you, looks after you and supports you, so he has got that.
"The performance of the whole team was great because when certain situations happen around the team, or with individuals, it can affect the team.
"I think the team came together, players came together, and Wayne performing like he did shows his personality.
"Anything that goes on outside of the game, I'm not interested in. I'm more focused on if England can get a result and they did and that was the most important thing."
