AC Milan ace David Beckham says he remains a Manchester United fan, despite last night's 3-2 defeat.

The England star faced his former club for the first time since leaving in 2003 and was in the starting XI for this 3-2 defeat.

"It was a great atmosphere, a full stadium and my first time against Manchester United," he told Sky Italia. "Of course it was United, the team I played for many years and will always be my number one team.

"Obviously I wanted Milan to win tonight and it's disappointing, but of course I will always be a Manchester United supporter.

"We did really well in the first half and if we'd have scored a couple when we had the chances, it would've been a different game.

"Unfortunately, when you're playing against a side like Manchester United, you need to take your chances."
