LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham hopes Manchester United star Wayne Rooney is on the plane to the Euros with England.

Beckham says Rooney is too important to be left behind by Fabio Capello.

He told the People: "It's going to be a big loss having Wayne miss those first three games.

"But he should still go because he's one of the best strikers in the world.

"He has been exceptional for Manchester United and he has been exceptional for England."
