Beckham admits last six months have been hell

David Beckham has admitted the past six months have been some of the hardest in his illustrious career.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has been on the road to recovery since March, when he seriously injured his Achilles whilst on loan with AC Milan, and says that the months of rehab have been extremely tough.

"Being on the sidelines for six months has been the toughest part of my career so far," he said.

"Not playing for six months is really tough. It's the first time that's happened to me in my life.

"Yes I've had other injuries but nothing that has kept me out for so long.

"And it's so frustrating when you are injured and you're not involved in the game and you can't do anything.

"But it's made me realise how much I do love the game.

"That's one of the biggest things that's come out of me being injured - I still love the game and I'm not ready to finish yet."

Beckham is set to return to the pitch this weekend when LA Galaxy take on Columbus Crew in MLS at the Home Depot Center.
