LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham says his move to AC Milan has helped his waistline!

"When I arrived at Milan, my body-fat percentage was 13.7 and today it is 8.5," Beckham explained.

"I think that the major benefit I have enjoyed here in Italy is improved fitness.

"Playing for Milan has certainly increased my chances of playing at the top level with the national side and I am benefitting from it at the moment."

The absolute record appearance holder for England is former goalkeeper Peter Shilton, who made 125 outings.

"At the moment I'm not thinking about Peter's total at all," Becks continued.

"I take each game as it comes because I know how quickly things can change in football."
