Jermaine Beckford has revealed he has dropped down into the Championship with Leicester because of the club`s huge potential. The 27-year-old striker left Everton for a four-year contract at the King Power Stadium.
"The size of the club attracted me as well as the manager and what he wants to achieve here at Leicester and I see the club going places. We will go for the title," Beckford told the club`s official website. "It was very difficult to turn it down and it will be very exciting to work with Sven-Goran Eriksson. I can't wait to get started."
Eriksson insists Beckford`s arrival is a signal of intent and said: "The message that is loud and clear is that a Premier League footballer of Jermaine`s undoubted talent is keen to join us.
"This says a great deal about the ambition of Leicester City and the desire of everyone here to achieve success."
