Michael Beauchamp returned from months on the sidelines with injury to help Danish club Aalborg score a big win in the Uefa Cup. The Australian defender has been out of the side since September with hamstring and knee problems but finally managed a full 90 minutes of action.

Aalborg accounted for Spanish outfit Deportivo la Coruna 3-0 in the first leg of their third round clash.

It was a timely return for Beauchamp who is out to prove his fitness and form to Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek.
