BBC to feature Women's World Cup

The BBC will show every game from the 2015 Fifa Women's World Cup live in the UK, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The publicly funded free-to-air broadcaster, which acquired the rights to the tournament as part of a package of events including future editions of the men's competition and the Fifa Confederations Cup, has revealed plans to spread matches across the BBC Two and BBC Three channels and on its 'red button' digital service.

It will also provide coverage on radio network BBC Radio Five Live and on its website.

"Our coverage of women's football goes from strength to strength and there continues to be a strong appetite for it," said BBC director of sport Barbara Slater.

"We look forward to bringing our audiences the excitement and drama of another major women's international football tournament."

The 2015 Fifa Women's World Cup will be played in Canada from 6th June to 5th July.
