Bayern victory shows Man City's squad depth - Pellegrini

Manuel Pellegrini feels Manchester City showed the depth of their squad by beating Bayern Munich 3-2 on Tuesday night.

City came from two goals down to beat Bayern at the Allianz Arena, which was the Germans' first loss in 11 European outings, and did so without a number of key players.

Pellegrini did not use skipper Vincent Kompany and leading scorer Sergio Aguero while star midfielder Yaya Toure was suspended and Samir Nasri did make the matchday squad as City get set to take on Premier League leaders Arsenal this coming weekend.

After the match, Pellegrini touched on the fact that his City side did extremely well to produce a winning result away from home which allowed them to avenge the 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Bavarians in early October.

"It was a very important game. First of all because we wanted revenge for what we did in Manchester - we played very badly that day," he told Sky Sports.

"There is not that difference between Bayern and our team.

"So, today, winning here and scoring three goals without Kompany, Aguero, Yaya Toure, Nasri, I think that shows we have a very good squad, so it is an important victory."
