Bayern Munich are willing to spend big to sign Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng.
The Mirror says Boateng, 22, has had a miserable season at Eastlands since signing from Hamburg for £10million last summer and Bayern want to take him back to the Bundesliga.
The World Cup squad-man has been in and out of the side through injury and loss of form, so he could be available - and interested - in returning home.
The Munich club have shortlisted Boateng among others, with new coach Jupp Heynckes being given a £50m transfer budget.
He said: "Money is no object for what we want."
City have plenty of competition in Boateng's positions - right-back and centre-back - and might let him go for around £8m.
