German club Bayern Munich have swooped for Ajax defender Gregory van der Wiel and look like clinching him from under Chelsea's nose.
The Germans are keen to finalise a £14million deal for the 22-year old prior to the World Cup final on Sunday in which van der Wiel will be representing Holland.
Chelsea were the frontrunners for van der Wiel's signature but Bayern managed to trump their offer and if Carlo Ancelotti wants the highly-rated full-back, he will need to act this weekend.
