Bayern Munich starlet Green accepts US invitation but hasn't yet pledged allegiance

Bayern Munich young gun Julian Green has accepted an invitation to train with the USA national team.

The 18-year old American-born winger, who is eligible to play for Germany, will train with Juergen Klinsmann's squad in Frankfurt ahead of the March 5 friendly with Ukraine but is yet to pledge his allegiance to the US according to his representative.

"No decision [on his international future] has been made yet," Katharina Schrott told MLSsoccer.com. "The only fact I am able to confirm is that he is going to train with the US team in Frankfurt."

However, the young gun - who made his Bayern debut in the Champions League in November - is not eligible to represent the US.

"He is not eligible to play in the friendly against Ukraine," USMNT press officer Michael Kammarman told MLSsoccer.com. "He would not be able to play for us until he completes a onetime switch with FIFA."

The prolific Green, who has scored 15 goals in 18 outings for the Bayern II side in the Regionalliga this season, was born in Tampa to an American father and German mother before the family moved to Deutschland whenj he was two.
