Bayern Munich's Rummenigge: Chelsea would not meet Fair Play standards

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is confident that Chelsea would not meet FIFA's Financial Fair Play criteria.

The Blues, under owner Roman Abramovich, have been more careful with their spending in recent years but their Champions League final opponents feel that they would not be able to break even once the new regulations are set in place.

"It is no secret that 60 per cent of professional European football clubs are in the red. What I do know is that Chelsea would not meet the criteria of Financial Fair Play today," Rummenigge stated to Abendzeitung.

"He [Abramovich] is completely likeable - and not the kind to appear cocky or arrogant. He is more cautious [than other comparable owners].

"Real Madrid [will] break even, Barcelona [will] break even."
