Juergen Klinsmann has named a 22-man squad for the USA’s upcoming international friendly with Mexico.

The US takes on arch enemies El Tri in Phoenix on April 2 as both nations continue their preparations for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Klinsmann has called in Bayern Munich youngster Julian Green for his potential senior international debut after pledging his allegiance to the States despite playing at youth level with Germany.

Green will join 19 players from Major League Soccer as well as two from Mexican side Puebla in the roster which will meet neighbours Mexico at the University of Phoenix Stadium.

“Everyone knows the clock is ticking,” said Klinsmann.

“This is a huge opportunity for our players to show where they are at and to make their case. We expect them to give a really strong performance against a Mexican team that is now basically coming back on track. They need to prove now that they badly want to go to Brazil.”
