Bayern Munich management are rallying around Joshua Kimmich.
The young fullback lashed out this week over his lack of playing time this season - which has alerted the interest of Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
However, Bayern chiefs have moved to ease Kimmich's frustrations in the last 24 hours.
"We have a lot in store for him in the future," said chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "He will, quite clearly, succeed Philipp Lahm. From next season he has a secure place. In any case, he is in the plans of Carlo Ancelotti."
Ancelotti added: "He has not played so much, but these were just tactical decisions. He is a very important player for us."
