Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso: Liverpool legend Gerrard my inspiration

Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso admits he drew inspiration from the Premier League when growing up in France.

Tolisso left Lyon for Bayern over the summer for €41.5m.

He told Onze Mondial: "My inspiration for my job is Steven Gerrard, who is someone who knew how to do everything. He could score, defend. You could see him everywhere.

"(Frank) Lampard, he was a little similar, more offensive. (Toni) Kroos, (Luka) Modric, you feel like they're attacking, but they're not just attacking. They defend, they tackle. Thiago Alcantara, who plays with me at Bayern, is also in the same style.

"Why was my favorite player an attacker? Because I was an attacker at the start. I liked to score and I always kept this desire to score. Even if I stepped back, even when I was left-back at OL, I wanted to score. It was Sonny Anderson, he was my idol."
