Mark van Bommel has warned players who want to play for Manchester United that manager Louis van Gaal is not an easy man to play under.
The Dutch pair famously clashed during their time together at Bayern Munich, with van Bommel eventually seeking a transfer to AC Milan.
Van Bommel spoke about his qualms with his former boss this week, advising those who seek a move to Old Trafford to take caution.
"He has a way and it is his way. He wanted to go straight. He doesn't want to go right or go left, only straight," van Bommel warned.
"He has a way and he goes straight. Only if you have a good argument he will listen. If you say it was s**t he will the ask you why. Then you have to explain.
"It is a total 100 per cent change. Given the time, he has good ideas how to play on the pitch. But he is not easy to work with."
