Bayern Munich fullback Juan Bernat is delighted with his first Spain call-up.
Bernat admits he didn't expect the selection.
"I received it at the end of a training session. I did not expect it - it was a surprise for me to receive the call-up. I am very grateful to the coach and very happy to be here - it is a privilege to share the dressing room with these players.
"The welcome has been fantastic. The players have helped me in every way that they can. I know some of the players, like Paco and Jordi, and everything has been smooth.
"It is a dream to be here with World and European champions, I hope to learn a lot from them."
