Bayern Munich have put Liverpool on red alert over the availability of Mario Gomez. The Daily Mail says Bayern intend to cash in on Gomez in January to fund a bid for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.

Gomez was all set to join Liverpool in August, only for Bayern to block the move on deadline day.

Reds boss Roy Hodgson remains a big fan of the Germany international.
