Bayern Munich are confident of fighting off interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid to keep Franck Ribery.
Players in the UK are already subject to heavy taxes - and Spain will also invoke similar plans next month.
Germany still retains a 40 per cent demand for anyone earning over £60,000 a year.
Bayern chairman and former player Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes that will ensure their star player remains in Germany.
Asked about Ribery's future Rummenigge said: "Franck knows what he has at Bayern Munich, why should he go?"
Hinting that Bayern are prepared to fight off advances from other clubs, Rummenigge added: "In England and Spain, the income tax for foreigners has increased significantly and that also plays a role."
