Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti has again spoken of coming close to taking the Manchester United job.
He was "really close" to being Sir Alex Ferguson's successor in 2013.
"The reason why I was not the United manager was because I had spoken before with Real Madrid," he told the Mail on Sunday.
"And that was the only reason. Of course, Manchester United is a fantastic team and everyone wants to be a manager of Manchester United. But I already spoke with Real Madrid."
