Rafa Benitez's future at Liverpool is again in doubt after it was revealed Bayern Munich had see off competition from the Reds to sign Jurgen Klinsmann this week.

A high-ranking official at Bayern admitted the Reds had forced their hand with their audacious move, insisting: "There was a detailed proposal made to Jurgen by Liverpool, just waiting for his signature."
