Bayern Munich chief Rummenigge: We rejected great Ribery proposal from Chelsea

Bayern Munich supremo Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admits Franck Ribery came close to joining Chelsea in the past.

BILD says in 2010, Chelsea were prepared to offer €65 million plus Jose Bosingwa for the Frenchman.

Ribery was unsettled at the time as he failed to see eye-to-eye with then Bayern coach Louis van Gaal.

Rummenigge recalled: "We had a great proposal from Chelsea, there was a lot of interest also from Real Madrid.

"But the offer was not accepted. We do not sell our best players."
