Bayern Munich chief Rummenigge: We offered more than Juventus for Vidal

Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admits they were frustrated in their attempt to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Rummenigge has revealed that his club made a bigger offer than Juventus for Arturo Vidal in 2011.

"We both wanted Vidal," the German legend told Calcissimo.com. "Then the player's agent created a bit of a mess.

"We tried to sign him when the player said that he didn't intend to renew his contract with Bayer Leverkusen.

"I know how much Juve paid for him and we had offered even more, but Leverkusen then decided to sell him to a foreign club in order to not strengthen a direct rival.

"It wasn't a problem for Juventus."
