Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti has backed his former assistant Paul Clement to do great in his new job at Swansea City.
Former Derby County boss Clement, who has worked with Ancelotti at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and Bayern, was appointed the manager of the relegation-threatened club on Tuesday.
"It was a surprise [for me to lose him] because everything happened on the last day of the year," Bayern boss Ancelotti said.
"He had an offer from Swansea, decided to come back to England and I wish him good luck because he was a really good assistant.
"I think he has a lot of motivation because he wanted to come back to England and be a manager in the Premier League. I hope he's going to do a great job at Swansea."
