Bayern Munich boss Ancelotti: Chelsea can be competitive in the Champions League

Chelsea will be able to compete against Europe's best clubs in the Champions League next season.

That is according to Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian, who coached Chelsea in 2012, believes his former club are much improved after their recent signings and there improvement can lead to success in Europe's premier competition.

"I can not wish Antonio to win the Champions League, but of course Chelsea will be competitive," said Ancelotti.

"They have bought really good players, the team is better compared to last year - it was a fantastic year for Chelsea and for Antonio.

"He was able to change the mentality of the team, the style of play and everything was okay. For this reason they are going to be really, really competitive. To win? I don't know. I hope not!"
