Bayern Munich attacker James Rodriguez is ready to pack his bags and return to Real Madrid next season.

The Colombia international is on a two-season loan at Bayern and enjoyed an outstanding first 12 months in Germany.

However, Zinedine Zidane's dramatic resignation yesterday has changed the landscape and James is now willing to return to Madrid.

Don Balon says James has long assured president Florentino Perez he would return to Real if Zidane left and with the Frenchman now gone he is happy to fulfill his promise.

Indeed, James has already told his agent, Jorge Mendes, to let Perez know he wants to come back - a call the president will happily accept.
