Bayern Munich were clearly rattled by reports of Manchester United planning a move for coach Pep Guardiola yesterday. Hours after the sacking of David Moyes, reports emerged that United would make discreet enquiries about Guardiola's interest in moving to Old Trafford.
Before the coach could take his seat for yesterday's Champions League pre-match media conference, Bayern's press officer had a message "for the people of England".
"Tell the people of England that the chance is zero," he declared regarding the prospect of Guardiola moving to United.
The Spaniard then took questions from the seated media.
