Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has criticised Louis van Gaal for his negativity towards Bastian Schweinsteiger.
In the wake of Manchester United's 0-0 draw with West Ham United on Saturday, van Gaal suggested he was yet to see the Schweinsteiger that was so good for Bayern for so many years.
But Rummenigge feels the criticism was unwarranted as the German midfielder was still adapting to football in England.
"I'm a bit disappointed with Louis, he should leave Bastian alone. He was the one who definitely wanted to sign him," Rummenigge told Sport Bild.
"Bastian needs a bit of time [to adjust]. You can't just give a verdict on him already.
"Louis is not known for being the hugely sympathetic type."
