Bayern ace Robben satisfied with Man Utd draw

Arjen Robben says Bayern Munich were never going to get away with an easy win at Manchester United.

The Bavarian behemoth drew 1-1 with United at Old Trafford in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday night despite plenty of previews tipping the Germans to salute comfortably.

Nemanja Vidic's 58th-minute header gave the home side the lead before Bastian Schweinsteiger levelled for Bayern just over 10 minutes later in what was a tricky contest for Robben and his teammates.

The Dutch winger knew it would be a stern test for the reigning European and Bundesliga champions and is now looking forward to the return bout at the Allianz Arena next Wednesday.

"In the end, we can be satisfied with the 1-1," Robben told NOS. "At least it's better than 0-0. We scored an away goal, so that's a positive thing.

"I didn't like it that people from outside underestimated United. The media were talking about them as though they would be easy to beat. I mean, after all you're playing against United at Old Trafford.

"Of course they're struggling in the Premier League, but that doesn't count on an evening like this. I expect a same kind of match next week.

"We have to move the ball quickly and find the space. We didn't create many major chances, but we're satisfied with 1-1. Next week we have to give it our best again."
