Bayer Leverkusen want to hang onto Barcelona defender Henrique for another 12 months.

The Brazilian joined Bayer immediately upon signing for Barca in the summer and has been outstanding in this season's Bundesliga.

Bayer chief Rudi Voller is seeking talks with Barca about extending his loan into a second season and said: "It would be the best development, another year to play here."

Henrique added: "I'm very happy here at Bayer."
