Juve chiefs Alessio Secco and Renzo Castagnini have made personal checks on the 20 year-old Brazilian this season.
Renato is under consideration as a replacement for Pavel Nedved, who is expected to announce his retirement early in the New Year. Inter Milan are also keen.
