Switzerland attacking midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta is back on the radar at Newcastle United.
The Switzerland international has been a long-term target for Toon since before Alan Pardew's arrival as manager.
Skysports.com says Pardew is now weighing up making an offer for Barnetta.
The winger could arrive as a replacement for Wayne Routledge, who is the subject of intense interest from Swansea City.
